Application and Request for a Certificate of Authority
[27 Pa.B. 4881] On August 23, 1997, a notice appeared stating that Eastern Life Insurance Company has applied for a Certificate of Authority to operate as a stock life insurance company in this Commonwealth. The notice should have indicated that Eastern American Life Insurance Company applied for a Certificate of Authority to operate a stock life insurance company in this Commonwealth. The initial filing was received on August 7, 1997 and was made under the requirements set forth under the Business Corporation Law of 1988, 15 Pa.C.S. Section 1 et seq. Persons wishing to comment on the grounds of public or private interest to the issuance of the Department's order approving this Certificate of Authority are invited to submit a written statement to the Insurance Department within 30 days from the date of this issue of the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Each written statement must include the name, address and telephone number of the interested party, identification of the application to which the statement is addressed, and a concise statement with sufficient detail to inform the Insurance Department of the exact basis of the statement.
