   The Historical and Museum Commission (Commission) issues microfilm standards for municipal governments and school districts as promulgated by the Local Government Records Committee in accordance with the Municipal Records Act (53 P. S. §§ 9001--9010) and Public School Code (24 P. S. § 5-518).

   The Commission wishes to provide public notice that revised microfilm standards were approved by the Local Government Records Committee at the September 16, 1997 meeting. The Committee also approved revisions to the policy and guidelines for the retention and disposition of original municipal records copied onto optical imaging and data storage systems as well as new standards and procedures for electronic records. Information on the standards and guidelines is available from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, Division of Archival and Records Management Services, P. O.
