Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry
[28 Pa.B. 1646] The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has approved the ''Sustainable Watershed Management: A Model Program To Balance Water Resources and Land Development in the French and Pickering Creeks Watershed'' plan and is placing the French Creek and Pickering Creek in Berks and Chester Counties, the watershed and all tributaries covered in the Plan on the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry (Registry).
On February 25, 1998, the Green Valleys Association submitted the French and Pickering Creeks Sustainable Watershed Management Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.
After review of the plan and other information, the Department has determined that PA Rivers Conservation Program requirements have been satisfied and places the following on the Registry:
1. The watershed area of French Creek (Berks and Chester Counties).
2. The following tributaries from the headwaters to their confluence with French Creek:
· Scott's Run
· Pine Creek
· Rock Run
· South Branch of French Creek
· Beaver Run
· Birch Run
3. The watershed area of Pickering Creek.
4. The following tributaries from the headwaters to their confluence with Pickering Creek:
· Pine Creek
· Pigeon Run
This action becomes effective April 4, 1998. Projects identified in the French and Pickering Creeks Sustainable Watershed Management Plan become eligible for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the PA Rivers Conservation Program.
