Personal Flotation Devices
[29 Pa.B. 2680] A notice of proposed rulemaking was published at 28 Pa. B. 5131 (October 10, 1998), containing an amendment to 58 Pa. Code § 97.4 (relating to personal flotation devices). Specifically, the Fish and Boat Commission (Commission) proposed amending this section to provide that between October 1 and the Friday before Memorial Day, all persons shall wear a Type I, II, III or V Coast Guard approved PFD when onboard any canoe or kayak or any other boat less than 16 feet in length when the boat is being operated and not affixed or made fast to the shore.
Notice is hereby given that at its meeting on May 3, 1999, the Commission voted not to adopt this amendment.
