[30 Pa.B. 2101] P-00001792 and P-00001793. Joint Petition of TDS Telecom/Mahanoy and Mahantango Telephone Company and TDS Telecom/Sugar Valley Telephone Company for Commission Action under section 251(f)(2) and 253(b) of the Telecommunications Act of 1996
On July 10, 1997 at Docket No. P-00971177, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (Commission) entered a final opinion and order which granted 16 rural local exchange carriers a 2-year suspension of the obligations imposed by section 251(b) and (c) of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (47 U.S.C.A. § 101, et seq.), with the opportunity to request three 1-year extensions of that suspension. Subsequently that same relief was granted TDS Telecom/Mahanoy and Mahantango Telephone Company (M&M) and TDS Telecom/Sugar Valley Telephone Company (SV), by Order entered January 29, 1998 at Docket Nos. P-00961115 and P-00961116.
On February 8, 2000, M&M and SV filed a joint petition requesting an extension of the original suspension, which expired on July 10, 1999. The Commission has determined that publication and comment on this joint petition is appropriate. Interested parties must submit comments on the M&M and SV petition within 7 days of publication in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Reply Comments must be submitted within 14 days of publication in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
