Proposed Exchange of Lands
[32 Pa.B. 318] The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), acting through the Bureau of Forestry (Bureau), and The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) are proposing to negotiate an exchange of lands in Centre and Franklin Counties, PA.
The Bureau is proposing to acquire from Penn State approximately 55 acres of land in Ferguson Township, Centre County, along the northwesterly slope of Tussey Mountain. This property will become an addition for the Rothrock State Forest.
In return, the Bureau proposes to convey to Penn State approximately 28 acres of land in Mont Alto Borough and Quincy Township, Franklin County, adjoining Penn State's Mont Alto Campus.
As is the policy of the Department, the public is hereby notified of this exchange. A 30-day period for public inquiry and/or comment will be in effect commencing January 22, 2002, and ending February 20, 2002. Oral or written comments or questions concerning this proposed exchange may be addressed to Daniel A. Devlin, Chief, Resources Planning and Information Division, Bureau of Forestry, P. O. If, in the duration of the 30-day comment period, a significant amount of public concern develops, the Secretary of the Department may schedule a public informational meeting.
