Independence Blue Cross; Blue Cross Community Rated Group Hospital Program; Rate Filing No. 12-P-03

   Independence Blue Cross is requesting approval to increase the premium 22.5% for the community rated Basic Blue Cross hospitalization program. The increase will affect 2,465 contract holders in this Commonwealth and will generate $3.4 million additional annual income. An effective date of October 1, 2003, is requested.

   Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's regional offices in Harrisburg and Philadelphia.

   Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to James Laverty, Actuary, Insurance Department, Accident and Health Bureau, Office of Rate and Policy Regulation, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120 within 30 days of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
