Highmark Blue Shield; Guaranteed Issue PPO High Deductible Health Plans (Western Region); Rate Filing

[Saturday, August 11, 2007]By filing No. 1A-HDHP/WDP/GI-07-HBCBS, Highmark Blue Shield requests approval to increase rates for its Guaranteed Issue PPO High Deductible Health Plan. The filing requests an average rate change of 15% or $76.01 per contract per month. This will affect about 1,700 contractholders and will produce additional income of about $1.56 million annually. The requested effective date of the change is January 1, 2008.
Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to October 24, 2007, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.

Copies of the filing are also available for public inspection, by appointment, during normal working hours at the Department's Harrisburg office.
