[Saturday, October 6, 2007]The following temporary authority and/or permanent authority applications for the right to render service as a common carrier or contract carrier in this Commonwealth have been filed with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Formal protests and petitions to intervene must be filed in accordance with 52 Pa. Code (relating to public utilities). A protest shall indicate whether it applies to the temporary authority application, the permanent authority application, or both. Filings must be made with the Secretary, Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, P. O. Box 3265, Harrisburg, PA 17105-3265, with a copy served on the applicant by October 29, 2007. Documents filed in support of the applications are available for inspection and copying at the Office of the Secretary between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at the business address of the respective applicant.
Applications of the following for approval to begin operating as common carriers for transportation of persons as described under each application.
A-00124105. Houtzdale Taxi Company (811 Good Street, Houtzdale, Clearfield County, PA 16651)--a corporation of the Commonwealth--persons upon call or demand, from points in the Townships of Gulich, Beccaria, Bigler and Woodward; and the Boroughs of Brisbin, Houtzdale, Ramey, Coalport, Irvona and Glen Hope, Clearfield County.

Order By the Commission
On April 7, 2005, the Bureau of Transportation and Safety instituted a complaint against Travel With Comfort, Inc., respondent, alleging that respondent operated its vehicle while under suspension for failing to maintain evidence of insurance on each of its vehicles used in providing service authorized by this Commission, a violation of 66 Pa.C.S. § 501(c); failed to have the proper name or registered insignia and the proper number of the certificate of public convenience identification markings on each side of the vehicle, a violation of 52 Pa. Code § 29.71(a); failed to include in its advertisement, its proper name and certificate number issued by this Commission, a violation of 52 Pa. Code § 21.2; and offered service of a different nature than that authorized by this Commission, a violation of 66 Pa.C.S. § 1102(a)(1)(i).
Respondent was duly notified that, if it failed to file an answer which admitted or failed to deny the allegations in the complaint, then the Bureau of Transportation and Safety would request the Commission to enter an order imposing a fine. The complaint and notice were sent by certified mail and returned ''Unknown'' on April 19, 2005. The complaint and notice were then published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin on September 24, 2005; and, to date, more than thirty days later, no response has been received by respondent.
Respondent's certificate of public convenience at Docket No. A-00115561, F.3 was cancelled on May 25, 2005, for failure to maintain evidence of bodily injury and property damage insurance on file with this Commission.
Therefore, It Is Ordered:
1. That the allegations in the complaint are deemed to be admitted.
2. That the complaint is sustained.
3. That the respondent, within 20 days from the date of service of this order, pay a fine of $1,350, by certified check or money order payable to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission at P. O. Box 3265, Harrisburg, PA 17105-3265, as provided in the Public Utility Code, 66 Pa.C.S. § 3301 and 3315.
4. That the respondent cease and desist from further violations of the Public Utility Code, 66 Pa.C.S. §§ 101, et seq., and the Regulations of this Commission, 52 Pa. Code §§ 1.1, et seq.
