Project No. O18B65-001
The primary objective of the 2.5 acre wetland project, in Subbasin 18 (the Kiskiminetas River Watershed), is to restore habitat to a highly manipulated landscape. A secondary objective is to control surface water runoff which is causing erosion. The parcel has a large amount of erosion from fill that was placed there after construction of a golf course and from mining refuse piles. This project will excavate the fill and remove the mining refuse which will provide the opportunity for the expansion of several small wetland pockets that have established over time. The project is located on the Cherry Wood Golf Course property in Bell Township, Westmoreland County. (Vandergrift, PA Quadrangle N: 9 inches; W: 6.5 inches)
