UPMC Health Plan; PPO Conversion Product Rate Filing

[Saturday, June 16, 2012]UPMC Health Plan requests approval to increase the PPO Conversion Product rates. The requested rate increase is 3.2% over January 1, 2006, rates. This rate increase includes addition of prescription drug coverage which is not offered currently on the conversion product and benefit changes such as increases to the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum and increasing co-pay for PCP, specialist, ER, urgent care, therapies and outpatient mental health.
The proposed rate increase would affect approximately 914 subscribers and would produce additional revenue of about $120,000 annually. The requested effective date of the change is August 1, 2012.
Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to August 30, 2012, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.

A copy of the filing is also available for public inspection, by appointment, during normal working hours at the Department's Harrisburg office.
