Stream Redesignation Evaluation of Unnamed Tributary (UNT) to North Fork Dunkard Fork, UNT to Big Cove Creek, UNT to West Branch Conococheague Creek and Lick Run; Water Quality Standards Review

Code § 93.4d (relating to processing of petitions, evaluations and assessments to change a designated use), the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) gives notice that evaluations will be conducted on the stream sections listed to determine the proper protected use designation in this Commonwealth's Water Quality Standards.

West Branch Conococheague CreekFranklin West Branch Conococheague Creek Lick Run Columbia Roaring Creek The UNT 32599 to North Fork Dunkard Fork evaluation is being conducted as a result of routine data collection activities that indicate the existing use may be different than the designated use. UNT 32599 to North Fork Dunkard Fork is currently designated Trout Stocking, as identified in 25 Pa. Code § 93.9w (relating to Drainage List W).
The UNT 60532 to Big Cove Creek evaluation is being conducted in response to an existing use evaluation request. UNT 60532 to Big Cove Creek is currently designated Cold Water Fishes, Migratory Fishes, as identified in 25 Pa. Code § 93.9z (relating to Drainage List Z).
UNT 59767 to West Branch Conococheague Creek and Lick Run have each been classified by the Fish and Boat Commission as Class A wild trout streams.
The Department is seeking information concerning the water quality of these waters to supplement any evaluations that have been or are being performed for potential redesignation as High Quality or Exceptional Value Waters.
Interested persons may submit data using the Department's online eComment tool at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment. Data may also be submitted to ecomment@ pa.gov or Mark Brickner, Water Quality Division, Bureau of Clean Water, P.O. Box 8774, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8774.
