Change to Supplemental Payments to Qualifying Hospitals

[Saturday, November 9, 2024]The Department of Human Services (Department) is providing final public notice that it will not allocate funding for supplemental payments for certain acute care general hospitals that provide a high volume of services to Medical Assistance eligible and low-income populations in nonrural medically underserved areas for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
The Department published notice of its intent not to allocate funding for these payments at 54 Pa.B. 3585 (June 22, 2024). The Department received no comments during the 30-day comment period and will implement the change set forth in the notice of intent.
Fiscal Impact
The Department will not allocate the $5.449 million in total funds (Federal and State) for the supplemental payments previously identified.
