Finding

[28 Pa.B. 6124]

Armstrong County

Pursuant to the provisions of 71 P. S. Section 2002(b), the Secretary of Transportation makes the following written finding:

The Department of Transportation plans to replace the Pine Furnace Bridge (County Bridge #25) in Armstrong County.

The proposed project is located in Valley Township along T-566 across the South Fork of Pine Creek. The project requires removal of the existing Pine Furnace Bridge, a National Register eligible historic resource.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been prepared and signed by all appropriate agencies for the proposed action. The MOU included a commitment to prepare a Pennsylvania Historic Resource Form including a description and history of the bridge. The MOU also includes a commitment to submit to the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, Bureau for Historic Preservation, photographs of all exterior elevations of the bridge, a U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute quadrangle map showing the outline of the property associated with the bridge, and a site map which includes the property boundaries and the location of the bridge.

No adverse environmental effect is likely to result from the replacement of this bridge.

Secretary
