HealthChoices Behavorial Health Program; Request for Proposals

   The purpose of this notice is to announce the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the expansion of the HealthChoices Behavioral Health Program into the Northeast Zone, which consists of the counties of Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming.

   *  The RFP for the HealthChoices Mandatory Behavioral Health Program in this Commonwealth's Northeast Zone currently serves approximately 106,000 Medicaid recipients. The HealthChoices Northeast Behavioral Health RFP # 03-02 will be issued March 29, 2002.

   *  Proposals must be received by Kathy King-McCarthy, official in charge, Division of Procurement, Bureau of Administrative Services, Department of Public Welfare, Room 106, Health and Welfare Building, Harrisburg, PA 17105, fax (717) 787- 3560, no later than June 28, 2002, at 2 p.m.

   *  The proposed contract period will be a one 3-year contract with the option of one 2-year extension by letter of mutual agreement. The proposed effective date of the contract is January 1, 2004.
