HIGHMARK, Inc. d/b/a Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield; Filing No. 1-RET-02-HBCBS

   By Filing No. 1-RET-02-HBCBS, Highmark, Inc. d/b/a Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, requests approval of initial prospective base rates for: (1) two high deductible Comprehensive Major Medical plans and an associated Freestanding Drug plan for non-Medicare eligible retirees; and (2) for a Medicare Complementary plan with an associated Freestanding Drug plan for Medicare-eligible retirees, both to be offered on a voluntary enrollment basis. The requested effective date of the rates is May 1, 2002.

   Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's regional offices in Harrisburg.

   Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Bharat Patel, Actuary, Insurance Department, Accident and Health Bureau, Office of Rate and Policy Regulation, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, within 15 days of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
