Change in Enrollment Fees for Training under the Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act

   The Attorney General and the Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), under 18 Pa.C.S. § 5724 (relating to training), shall establish a course of training in the legal and technical aspects of wiretapping and electronic surveillance as allowed or permitted by the act, shall establish regulations as they find necessary and proper for the training program and shall establish minimum standards for certification and periodic recertification of Commonwealth investigative or law enforcement officers as eligible to conduct wiretapping or electronic surveillance under the act. The PSP shall charge each investigative or law enforcement officer who enrolls in this training program a reasonable enrollment fee to offset the costs of training. Whenever necessary and possible, room and board shall be made available to attendees at a fee to be announced prior to the scheduled program.

   The fees for investigative or law enforcement officers to attend this training have changed. The new fees are as follows:

Class A (enrollment only) $500.00
Class A (enrollment with room and board) $650.00
Class B (enrollment only) $800.00
Class B (enrollment with room and board) $1,200.00
Recertification $125.00
