Health Research Advisory Committee Meeting

   The Health Research Advisory Committee (Committee) of the Department of Health (Department) will hold a public meeting on October 24, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 23 South Second Street (corner of Second and Chestnut Streets), Harrisburg, PA.

   There are three primary aims for the meeting: (1) to obtain information on research needs related to cancer vaccines; (2) to hear testimony on other research needs and priorities; and (3) to discuss the State Fiscal Year 2009-2010 health research priorities for the Commonwealth Universal Research Enhancement Program. Current and past State Fiscal Year priorities for both formula funded and nonformula funded health research are posted on the Department's web site (www.health.state.pa.us/cure).

   The meeting is open to the public. No reservations are required to attend the meeting. Only those individuals who have previously submitted written testimony by the July 18, 2008, deadline may have the opportunity to address the Committee.
