Availability of Technical Guidance

 Technical guidance documents are available on the Department of Environmental Protection's (Department) web site at http://www.depweb.state.pa.us (DEP Keywords: ''eLibrary''). The ''Technical Guidance Final Documents'' heading is the link to a menu of the various Department bureaus where each bureau's final technical guidance documents are posted. The ''Technical Guidance Draft Documents'' heading is the link to the Department's draft technical guidance documents.

 The Department will continue to revise its nonregulatory documents, as necessary, throughout 2010.

Ordering Paper Copies of Department Technical Guidance

 The Department encourages the use of the Internet to view and download technical guidance documents. When this option is not available, persons can order a paper copy of any of the Department's draft or final technical guidance documents by contacting the Department at (717) 783-8727.

 In addition, bound copies of some of the Department's documents are available as Department publications. Check with the appropriate bureau for more information about the availability of a particular document as a publication.

Changes to Technical Guidance Documents

 Following is the current list of recent changes. Persons who have questions or comments about a particular document should call the contact person whose name and phone number is listed with each document.

Draft Technical Guidance—Substantive Revision

 DEP ID: 275-2101-003. Title: Air Quality Permit Exemptions. Description: On May 29, 2010, the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) published a notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin of substantive revisions to the Air Quality Permit Exemptions Technical Guidance Document (DEP ID. 275-2101-003). (See 40 Pa.B. 2822)

 Under 25 Pa. Code § 127.14 (relating to exemptions), the Department may determine sources or classes of sources which may be exempt from the plan approval and permitting requirements of 25 Pa. Code Chapter 127 (relating to construction, modification, reactivation and operation of sources). In accordance with § 127.14(d), the listing of these determinations is being revised and a draft is now available.

 In response to requests from several commentators, the Department is extending the comment period for the proposed Air Quality Permit Exemptions Technical Guidance Document (DEP ID. 275-2101-003) from June 28, 2010 to July 18, 2010.

 Comments: Written comments should be submitted to Virendra Trivedi, Environmental Engineer Manager, New Source Review Section, Division of Permits, Bureau of Air Quality, 12th Floor, Rachel Carson State Office Building, P. O. Box 8468, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8468. The Department will accept comments submitted by e-mail, but comments submitted by facsimile will not be accepted. A return name and address must be included in each e-mail transmission. Comments must be received by the Department by July 18, 2010.  Effective Date: Upon publication as final in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
