Draft Stream Evaluation Reports Available for Public Comment

 Under 25 Pa. Code § 93.4d (relating to processing of petitions, evaluations and assessments to change a designated use), the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) gives notice that the following Draft Stream Evaluation Reports are available for public comment on the Department's web site for a 30-day comment period.

 The Dunbar Creek evaluation was conducted in response to a request by the Fish and Boat Commission to redesignate the Dunbar Creek basin to Exceptional Value (EV). The Dunbar Creek basin is currently designated High Quality—Cold Water Fishes (HQ-CWF).

 The UNT 28168 to Oley Creek evaluation was conducted due to an error discovered in 25 Pa. Code § 93.9k (relating to Drainage List K) that affects a portion of the Nescopeck Creek basin including Oley Creek and UNT 28168. The error lists these surface waters with two conflicting use designations.

 The Clyde Run evaluation was performed in response to its omission from 25 Pa. Code Chapter 93 (relating to water quality standards).

 The Cranberry Creek evaluation was conducted in response to a petition from the Broadhead Creek Watershed Association that was accepted for study by the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) on April 16, 2014. The petition requests the Cranberry Creek basin be redesignated to EV. The Cranberry Creek basin is currently designated HQ-CWF.

 The Paradise Creek evaluation was performed in response to a petition from the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited that was accepted for study by the EQB on August 19, 2014. The petition requests the Paradise Creek basin be redesignated to EV. The Paradise Creek basin is currently designated HQ-CWF.

 The Department conducted an evaluation of the UNT to Whetstone Run located in Marple Township, Delaware County, in response to a petition submitted to the EQB by the Darby Creek Valley Association. On October 18, 2016, the EQB accepted the petition for further evaluation. The entire Whetstone Run basin is currently designated Warm Water Fishes, Migratory Fishes (WWF, MF). The petition requests the UNT to Whetstone Run be redesignated to HQ-WWF, MF.

 The draft reports are available for review on the Department's eComment web site at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment.

 The Department has asked all the previously listed local jurisdictions to make a copy of this notification available to any and all interested citizens, including those who own real property in the previously listed municipalities and to any other parties the municipalities believe may be interested in these evaluations and draft reports.

 Interested persons may submit comments through Monday, August 13, 2018. All comments, including comments submitted by e-mail, must include the originator's name and address. Commentators are encouraged to submit comments using the Department's online eComment tool at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment or by e-mail to ecomment@pa.gov. Written comments may be mailed to the Department of Environmental Protection, Policy Office, Rachel Carson State Office Building, P.O. Box 2063, Harrisburg, PA 17105-2063. All comments received on the draft report during the public comment period will be reviewed and considered in the Department's evaluation.
