Availability of Grants through the Abandoned Mine Land and Abandoned Mine Draining Grant Program

 The Department of Environmental Protection's (Department) Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation invites interested parties to apply for an Abandoned Mine Land (AML) and Abandoned Mine Draining (AMD) Grant Program (Program) opportunity.

 Applicants must meet certain eligibility requirements (for example, an applicant must be an authority, an incorporated nonprofit organization, a political subdivision or conservation district) as noted in the Program guidance. Proposals must support the mission of the Department's AML and AMD Programs to restore AML and remediate AMD affecting this Commonwealth.

 The Program guidance and application instructions are available online through the Department's web site at (select the ''Grants'' icon and look for ''AML/AMD Grant Program'' under the ''Nonprofit Organizations'' heading) or by contacting Program staff at

 Applications must be submitted online through the Commonwealth's Electronic Single Application web site at Hard copy applications will not be accepted. The Department will accept applications during the following application rounds:

Application Round 1—February 19, 2024, through 11:59 p.m. on April 5, 2024

Application Round 2—June 3, 2024, through 11:59 p.m. on July 19, 2024

Application Round 3—September 23, 2024, through 11:59 p.m. on November 8, 2024
