§ 88.134. Sickness.
No definition of sickness shall be more restrictive than the following: sickness shall mean sickness or disease of an insured person which is diagnosed or treated after the effective date of insurance and while the insurance is in force. Such definition may provide for a probationary period which shall not exceed 30 days. However, the definition shall clearly state that illnesses diagnosed or treated during the probationary period shall be covered subject to the Time Limit on Certain Defenses. The definition may be further modified to exclude sickness or disease for which benefits are provided under any workmens compensation, occupational disease, employers liability, or similar law.
