§ 3042.18. Absence.
(a) Upon notification from the provider that a child has been absent more than 5 consecutive days for which the child is scheduled to attend child care, the eligibility agency shall send the parent or caretaker a notice confirming the suspension of the childs enrollment and payment to the provider.
(b) Upon notification from a parent or caretaker that a child has been or will be absent more than 5 consecutive days for which the child is scheduled to attend child care, the eligibility agency shall send the parent or caretaker a notice confirming the suspension of the childs enrollment and payment to the provider.
(c) The notice shall inform the parent or caretaker of all of the following:
(1) The responsibility of the parent or caretaker to report to the eligibility agency the date of the childs return to care.
(2) Payment shall resume on the date the child returns to care.
(d) If a childs absences exceed 40 total enrollment days in the States fiscal year, the parent or caretaker is responsible to pay to the provider the providers verified published daily rate for each day of absence starting with the 41st day of absence. A child is considered absent only once during an enrollment day. Suspended days of service as specified in § 3042.20 (relating to subsidy suspension) are not considered days of absence.
