§ 685a.1. Definitions.
The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
BlackjackAn ace and any card having a value of 10 dealt as the initial two cards to a player or the dealer.
Hard totalThe total point count of a hand which does not contain aces or which contain aces that are each counted as 1 in value.
Hole cardThe second card dealt face down to the dealer.
LargeA card value of either 10, jack, queen, king or ace.
Masque Card Reader deviceA device which illuminates either a blue (small), red (medium) or yellow (large) light based upon the value range of the dealers Hole card.
MediumA card value of either 6, 7, 8 or 9.
SmallA card value of either 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Soft valueThe total point count of a hand containing an ace when the ace is counted as 11 in value.
