Rule 310. Pre-Intake Duties, Scheduling, and Notice.
A. Juvenile probation officer duties. After a written allegation is submitted, the juvenile probation officer shall gather pertinent information to determine whether:
1) the allegations are within the jurisdiction of the juvenile court; and
2) it is appropriate to schedule an intake conference.
B. Scheduling. Intake conferences shall be scheduled within a reasonable time after submission of the written allegation.
C. Notice. The juvenile probation officer shall make all reasonable efforts to provide actual notice of the intake conference to the juvenile and the juveniles guardian.
Comment If the juvenile probation officer has exhausted all methods of communication with the juveniles guardian, the juvenile probation officer may proceed with the intake conference without the presence of the guardian. If the juvenile is detained at the intake conference without the presence of a guardian, the juvenile probation officer is to notify the guardian of the detention of the juvenile immediately. See Rule 313(B).
