WOOD CLASSIFICATION


§ 21.61. Group one woods.

 The following woods may not be more than 10% smaller than spruce in each cross section dimension


White ashFraxinus americana, biltmoreana, pennsylvanica lanceolata, pennsylvanica, quadrangulata.
BeechFagus grandifolia.
BirchBetula lenta, lutea, nigra.
Douglas fir (dense)Pseudotsuga taxifolia.
Rock elmUlmus racemosa.
HickoryHicoria ovata, laciniosa, alba, glabra, ovalisi.
IronwoodOstrya virginiana.
Black locustRobinia pseudacacia.
Honey locustGleditsia triacanthos.
Hard mapleAcer nigrum, saccharum.
Red mapleAcer rubrum.
Red oakQuercus borealis maxima, borealis, velutina, shumardii texana, palustris, phellos, laurifolia, rubra, rubra pagodaefolia, nigra, ellipsoidalis, coccinea, marilandica, kelloggii, catesbaei.
