Applications Sought to Fill Position on the Pennsylvania Rural Population Revitalization Commission

[Saturday, August 3, 2024]The Pennsylvania Rural Population Revitalization Commission (Commission) welcomes applications to fill a position on the Commission. Created by Act 21 of 2024, the Commission makes reviews and recommendations aimed at attracting and retaining residents in rural Pennsylvania while addressing challenges facing rural communities due to population shifts and changing demographics. As detailed in Act 21, the position must be filled by ''a young adult selected from a Statewide general farm organization. . .'' The successful applicant for this position must: (1) have knowledge of problems facing rural communities in this Commonwealth; (2) have experience in advocacy relating to rural issues; or (3) provide leadership in programs or activities that improve the quality of life for rural communities or attract and retain residents in rural Pennsylvania.
The term of office for members of the Commission is 2 years, with the possibility of reappointment. The Commission will meet at least four times per year at locations throughout this Commonwealth. Commission members do not receive a salary or compensation but will be reimbursed for reasonable and necessary expenses related to the performance of their official duties.
