Pennsylvania $500,000 Bonus Crossword Instant Lottery Game 1701

Under the State Lottery Law (72 P.S. §§ 3761-101—3761-314) and 61 Pa. Code § 819.203 (relating to notice of instant game rules), the Secretary of Revenue hereby provides public notice of the rules for the following instant lottery game:
1. Name: The name of the game is Pennsylvania $500,000 Bonus Crossword (''$500,000 Bonus Crossword''). The game number is PA-1701.
2. Price: The price of a $500,000 Bonus Crossword instant lottery game ticket is $10.
3. Play symbols: Each $500,000 Bonus Crossword instant lottery game ticket will feature a ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, two crossword puzzle play grids known as ''GRID 1'' and ''GRID 2,'' respectively, and a ''BONUS WORDS'' area further containing a ''WORD 1'' area and a ''WORD 2'' area. Each crossword ''GRID'' is played separately. The ''BONUS WORDS'' area is played separately. The play symbols located in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area and the ''BONUS WORDS'' area are: the letters A through and including Z. The play symbols located in ''GRID 1'' and ''GRID 2'' are: the letters A through and including Z and a 50X symbol.
4. Prize Symbols: The prize symbols and their captions located in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area are: $10.00 (TEN DOL), $20.00 (TWENTY), $30.00 (THIRTY), $40.00 (FORTY), $50.00 (FIFTY), $100 (ONE HUN), $200 (TWO HUN), $500 (FIV HUN), $1,000 (ONE THO) and $5,000 (FIV THO).
5. Prizes: The prizes that can be won in ''GRID 1'' are: $10, $20, $40, $100, $200, $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $50,000. The prizes that can be won in ''GRID 2'' are: $10, $30, $50, $200, $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 and $500,000. The prizes that can be won in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area are: $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, $100, $200, $500, $1,000 and $5,000. For a complete description of how these prizes can be won, see section 8 (relating to number and description of prizes and approximate odds). A player can win up to four times on a ticket.
6. Approximate number of tickets printed for the game: Approximately 14,400,000 tickets will be printed for the $500,000 Bonus Crossword instant lottery game.
7. Determination of prize winners:
(a) Holders of tickets upon which the player completely matches ten entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $500,000.
(b) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches nine entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $250,000.
(c) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches eight entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $250,000.
(d) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches ten entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $50,000.
(e) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches eight entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $50,000.
(f) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches seven entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $50,000.
(g) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches nine entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $10,000.
(h) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches six entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $10,000.
(i) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches five entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $10,000.
(j) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $5,000 (FIV THO) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $5,000.
(k) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches nine entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $5,000.
(l) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches eight entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $5,000.
(m) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches five entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $5,000.
(n) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches four entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $2,500.
(o) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches four entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $2,000.
(p) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches eight entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $1,000.
(q) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches seven entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $1,000.
(r) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $1,000 (ONE THO) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $1,000.
(s) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches three entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $1,000.
(t) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches seven entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, shall be entitled to a prize of $500.
(u) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches six entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $500.
(v) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $500 (FIV HUN) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $500.
(w) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches two entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $500.
(x) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches two entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and upon which a 50X symbol appears in any one of the matching words, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $500.
(y) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches six entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $200.
(z) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches five entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $200.
(aa) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $200 (TWO HUN) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $200.
(bb) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches five entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $100.
(cc) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $100 (ONE HUN) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $100.
(dd) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches four entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $50.
(ee) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $50.00 (FIFTY) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $50.
(ff) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches four entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $40.
(gg) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $40.00 (FORTY) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $40.
(hh) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches three entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $30.
(ii) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $30.00 (THIRTY) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $30.
(jj) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches three entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area and the ''BONUS LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $20.
(kk) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $20.00 (TWENTY) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $20.
(ll) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches two entire words in ''GRID 1,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $10.
(mm) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches two entire words in ''GRID 2,'' using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $10.
(nn) Holders of tickets where the player completely matches one entire ''WORD'' in the ''BONUS WORDS'' area, using only the letters found in the ''YOUR LETTERS'' area, and a prize symbol of $10.00 (TEN DOL) appears in the ''Prize'' area to the right of the matching ''WORD,'' on a single ticket, shall be entitled to a prize of $10.
8. Number and description of prizes and approximate odds: The following table sets forth the approximate number of winners, amounts of prizes and approximate odds of winning:

1. Scratch the YOUR LETTERS to reveal 18 letters. Scratch each matching letter every time it is found in Crossword GRID 1 or Crossword GRID 2. Each letter's square, when scratched gently, will turn white.
2. Match the letters of two (2) or more entire words in either Crossword GRID to win the corresponding PRIZE shown in the PRIZE KEY for that Crossword GRID. Only the highest PRIZE won in each Crossword GRID will be paid.
3. Each Crossword GRID is played separately.
50X MULTIPLIER: The ''50X'' symbol is a FREE spot. Scratch each ''50X'' symbol that appears in each Crossword GRID. Find a ''50X'' symbol in any winning combination of words to win 50 TIMES the corresponding PRIZE shown in the PRIZE KEY for that Crossword GRID.
BONUS WORDS: Completely match all the letters in either of the BONUS WORDS using the YOUR LETTERS to win the PRIZE shown to the right of that WORD. BONUS WORDS are played separately.
Prizes, including top prizes, are subject to availability at the time of purchase.
9. Retailer incentive awards: The Lottery may conduct a separate Retailer Incentive Program for retailers who sell $500,000 Bonus Crossword instant lottery game tickets.
10. Retailer bonus: The Lottery may offer a retailer bonus in connection with the sale of Pennsylvania instant lottery game tickets. If a retailer bonus is offered, a Lottery retailer shall be eligible for a bonus as described in this section. Lottery retailers who sell a winning ticket that entitles the ticket holder to a prize, either payable in a single installment or having a guaranteed minimum payout, of at least $100,000 and not exceeding $500,000 shall be paid a bonus of $500. Lottery retailers who sell a winning ticket that entitles the ticket holder to a prize, either payable in a single installment or having a guaranteed minimum payout, of at least $500,001 and not exceeding $1,000,000 shall be paid a bonus of $5,000. Lottery retailers who sell a winning ticket that entitles the ticket holder to a prize, either payable in a single installment or having a guaranteed minimum payout, of at least $1,000,001 and not exceeding $10,000,000 shall be paid a bonus of $10,000. A Lottery retailer is entitled only to the largest bonus for which they qualify on a winning ticket. A bonus will be initiated for payment after the instant ticket is claimed and validated. A bonus will not be awarded to a Lottery retailer that sells a non-winning Pennsylvania Lottery instant ticket used to enter a Pennsylvania Lottery second-chance drawing or promotion that is subsequently selected to win a prize.
11. Unclaimed prize money: For a period of 1 year from the announced close of $500,000 Bonus Crossword, prize money from winning $500,000 Bonus Crossword instant lottery game tickets will be retained by the Secretary for payment to the persons entitled thereto. If no claim is made within 1 year of the announced close of the $500,000 Bonus Crossword instant lottery game, the right of a ticket holder to claim the prize represented by the ticket, if any, will expire and the prize money will be paid into the State Lottery Fund and used for purposes provided for by statute.
12. Governing law: In purchasing a ticket, the customer agrees to comply with and abide by the State Lottery Law (72 P.S. §§ 3761-101—3761-314), 61 Pa. Code Part V (relating to State Lotteries) and the provisions contained in this notice.
13. Termination of the game: The Secretary may announce a termination date, after which no further tickets from this game may be sold. The announcement will be disseminated through media used to advertise or promote $500,000 Bonus Crossword or through normal communication methods.
