Availability of Fiscal-Year Report for the Reclamation Fee O & M Trust Account

[Saturday, October 5, 2024]The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) announces the availability of a draft Fiscal-Year Report (report) for the Reclamation Fee O & M Trust Account. This account was established to provide funds for the operation and maintenance of mine drainage treatment facilities at mine sites with post-mining discharges at ABS Legacy Sites as defined in 25 Pa. Code § 86.1 (relating to definitions). As required by the regulations in 25 Pa. Code § 86.17(3) (relating to permit and reclamation fees), this report contains a financial analysis of the revenue and expenditures from the account for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-2024 and provides projections for FY 2024-2025.
The Department will accept comments on this draft report through Monday, November 4, 2024. Commentators are encouraged to submit comments using the Department's online eComment process at www.ahs. dep.pa.gov/eComment or by e-mail to ecomment@pa.gov. Written comments may be mailed to the Department of Environmental Protection, Policy Office, Rachel Carson State Office Building, P.O. Box 2063, Harrisburg, PA 17105-2063. Use ''Reclamation Fee Report'' as the subject line in written communication.
The report and any comments provided will be reviewed with the Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board at the October 24, 2024, meeting.
The report is available on the Department's web site at www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/eComment.
